| Description | MirBSD NTP daemon with adjtimex patch
NTP, the Network Time Protocol, is used to keep the computer clocks
synchronised. It provides the ability to sync the local clock to remote NTP
servers and can act as NTP server itself, redistributing the local clock.
.
This is an alternative implementation of the NTP software, made by the
OpenBSD project. It makes use of privilege separation, only implements
a subset of the NTP protocol, and IN THIS PATCHED VERSION _does_ adjust
the rate of the clock.
.
The WTF edition also adds another couple of patches for better
behaviour, and its configuration listens on IN6ADDR_ANY by default
(change this for IPv4-only systems or systems that should not serve
others that can reach it over the internet). It also synchronises with
a REFERENCE timeserver at startup. |
