Descriptioncal(1) for workplaces using calendar weeks “kwal”, a pun on both “cal” and “KW”s (German “Kalenderwochen”, that is, calendar weeks), packages the OpenBSD version of the BSD cal(1) utility. It does not replace the FreeBSD ncal from bsdmainutils but can be called instead of it. . Basic usage is the same: kwal [-j] [[month] year]; kwal -y; use kwal [-y] -w [[month] year] for US-American calendar weeks; running kwal [-y] -wm [[month] year] shows ISO 8601 calendar weeks (which are the same as German KWs). . Mind this utility is only usable between 1753 and 9999, and that -j doesn’t show the “Julian date” but just the day-of-year number. These errors were there in the original BSD cal(1) and persist in FreeBSD’s ncal (packaged in bsdmainutils). . To display proper calendar week and normal ISO 8601 date, use: LC_ALL=C.UTF-8 date +'%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%z (%Z), %G-W%V-%u (%A)' LC_ALL=C.UTF-8 date -u +'%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%SZ, %G-W%V-%u (%A)' # UTC
