zless コ マ ン ド は 、 圧 縮 さ れ た テ キ ス ト フ ァ イ ル や 通 常 の テ キ ス ト フ ァ イ ル を 、 ソ フ ト コ ピ ー 端 末 上 で 一 度 に 全 画 面 で 閲 覧 す る た め の フ ィ ル タ ー で す 。 こ の コ マ ン ド は 、 環 境 変 数 LESSOPEN に ’|gzip -cdfq -- %s’ を 、 環 境 変 数 LESSMETACHARS に ’<space><tab><newline>;*?"()<>[|&ˆ‘#\$%=˜’ を 設 定 し て 、 less を 実 行 す る こ と と 同 じ で す 。 し か し な が ら 、 zless コ マ ン ド を 利 用 で き る よ う に す る の は 、 そ れ だ け の 価 値 の あ る こ と だ と 、 多 く の 人 が 考 え て い る よ う で す 。
